World’s Largest Digital Photograph is a 70-gigapixel panorama of Budapest.

Last month, 360world, a Hungarian company took two 25-megapixel Sony A900 cameras fitted with 400mm Minolta lenses and 1.4X teleconverters and a robotic camera mount from 360world to the top of  Janos Hill on the outskirts of the Buda side of Budapest. It was no easy feat to make the 70-gigapixel photo, and it took two days to shoot, and two solid days of post-processing that resulted in a single 200GB file — not to mention a 15-meter-long printed copy of the photograph to display it to the public.

It’s just been a few months since a 45-gigapixel panorama of Dubai claimed the title of world’s largest digital photograph, but it’s now the 70-gigapixel, 360-degree panorama of Budapest is the new king of the hill.

When you go to the site, use the tools on the left side to zoom in and out, and to move around the picture left click the mouse and move it.

It is incredable that you can zoom in to the windows on a house on the other side of the river!!

The photos on the bottom of the main photo are links that cause it to zoom into sites of the city and the photo.

Have fun with this!!!

Sony’s New Move Motion Controller Allows PS3 to compete with Wii – Sony is on the Move to take Wii market share

Sony's New Move Motion Controller Allows PS3 to compete with Wii - Sony is on the Move to take Wii market share

Sony's New Move Motion Controller Allows PS3 to compete with Wii - Sony is on the Move to take Wii market shareThe big news at the Games Developers Conference (GDC) is that Sony unveiled Move, its motion-sensitive controller.

The Move is a small hand held device that looks like a little bit like a microphone…or other things…Especially with the roundy thing on top of it that looks like a ping pong ball with an LED inside.

Move is clearly Sony’s bid to gain control over the Wii motion controller wars that are currently led by Nintendo, with its Wii controller. Don’t count Microsoft out with its Project Natal controller system.

The Move will be available this fall in a starter kit that begins at under $100 for a Move, a PlayStation eye camera and a game. This seems like it is a good attempt to jump ahead of Microsoft’s Natal and to begin winning over Wii users.

Shuehei Yoshida, Sony’s president for worldwide studios, said Move will “demonstrate that the motion controller for PS3 will be the solution for both casual and hard-core gamers alike” and that the types of games Sony can create with it are “amazingly diverse.”

“We like to think that the migration path between Wii households and PlayStation households is a natural path,” said Peter Dille, Sony’s senior vice president for marketing and PlayStation.

I remember reading an article about Sony talking about a new motion controller. Still the new Move opens up a huge market for them, and I can imagine PS3 taking taking over a large chunk of business from Nintendo’s Wii.

Sony told everyone that in additions to most games currently on the market, Move will also work with those games that involve swords, bows and arrows, guns, punching and much more. The idea is that Move will provide players with a realistic and precise feeling of holding whatever kind of thing the game calls for, be it a sword or a gun.

Sony expects users to use Move with a range of brand-new games and that they clearly think that it will enhance game play in existing titles. It showed off how Move can be used to move characters around in its hit title, Little Big Planet – to give and examplt of this.

Sony said that the controller comes with its own accessory, known as a sub-controller, which will accentuate what’s possible with Move. They also said that the forthcoming game SOCOM 4 will incorporate both Move and the sub-controller.

Looks like Wii are going to have someone else to think of…

If PS3/developers put out lots of good game titles using the Move, then they will succeed in taking a lot of Wii’s market.

Let the Motion Controller Wars begin!!!!

Now I prefer PC Gaming to console gaming, not that I spend 12 weeks locked in a basement playing Quake 4, but I do game once a week.

I have been thinking of getting a new game console, but Wii, X-box or PS3 has been the question.

Well, I saw this XCM Cyberchrome case makes your PlayStation 3 look like Princess Amidala’s ship in the first Star Wars prequal:

J-type 327 Nubian royal starship

Now I love the J-type 327, but I don’t know if spending $70 on and already $300 PS3 really is worth it, but damn if looks hot!!

Now, it is cool that the game geeks who do get this, will actually be able to see themselves in it – pale, pasty and with bloodshot rat eyes – and maybe decide to come up for air between 40 hour on-line slog fests and see if the real world still exists.
