President Obama Confirms Bin Laden's Death - 10 years after 9/11

Tonight President Obama confirmed that al Qaeda mastermind and USA nemisis Osama bin Laden has been killed in Pakistan. On Sunday, the U.S. launched a targeted operation against bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, harming no Americans but killing the mastermind of 9/11. After a 40 minute firefight, they killed bin Laden and took custody of his body.

Obama said he was first briefed of a lead about bin Laden being found in August 2010—taking action last week after they had all the intelligence and the operation had been detailed.

I am not one to support death and destruction as a solution for the issues facing man, but in the case of Osama bin Laden – I can say the world is better off with him dead then living.

It took 10 years, and the lives of thousands of Americans, but at last justice has been done.

Now can our troops come home?

  1. You sound like a resonable person when you write. But are you aware of how many hundreds of thousand innocent people have been killed during the war against terrorism and the hunt for Bin Laden? Talking about only american lives (not because they are not to be mourned and in a way even the soilders could be seen as innocents) can in truth only be regarded as extremely narrow-minded.
